When you prep a diaper bag for a travel day, it can feel overwhelming trying to figure out everything you’ll need, what to pack extra from your normal days out with baby, where to put everything, etc.
The easiest thing to do is make a checklist for your travel day and use that as a refernce point every time you go on a trip. I just have a note saved on my phone and refer back to that and adjust it as needed depending on what that specific trip needs.

What to look for when choosing a diaper bag for travel
As far as choosing what diaper bag to use when you travel, I prefer the one from TernX. It keeps things organized and has more pockets than other bags. It makes it a lot easier to find things when you’re in a cramped space.
The diaper backpack from TernX comes with an everyday clutch, big enough to hold wipes, a couple of diapers, a changing mat, your phone, and keys. The clutch conveniently fits in the front pocket. I love using this for a quick grab and go diaper change (like on an airplane or at a park) without having to bring the whole diaper bag. It’s also great to use as a day bag for a short outing.
There are two access points to the main compartment of TernX’s awesome diaper bag which I really like. It has a clamshell opening which is great because you can open it fully to see everything at a glance. You can also access the backpack from the top.
It also has individual mesh pocketsfor things like diapers, diaper cream, medicine, a bottle warmer, etc.
It has two expandable side pockets for water bottles or snacks.
One thing that I think is so useful in a travel diaper bag is a waterproof compartment for emergencies. I’ve used it to store dirty clothes after a baby’s blowout, or to store wet bathing suits after a day out at the pool or splash pad. I love that it keeps things separate from other belongings.
It’s also super easy to carry through the airport with it’s luggage pass through strap. And bonus: it has a secret zipper compartment for possports and valuables.
